Ringo Starr just became a much tougher autograph - The Beatles drummer says on video he is not signing fan mail anymore
October 13th, 2008 / by Brad
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr had an interesting message posted on his official website today. Seems Ringo has had enough with signing the fans stuff that has been mailed to him over the last 40 odd years. While we are not ones for mail-in autographs (it’s well known most celebrities mail-in autograph requests are not actually signed by them) I would bet that Ringo did do a fair bit of his mail-in autograph requests (I believe Ringo’s quest to answer all his fan mail was once parodied in a Simpson’s episode.) I guess Ringo’s finally had enough. Hopefully, Ringo continues to be a good signer when on tour. I have been fortunate to meet up with Ringo quite a few time over the years. Especially since he has used Canada for a warm-up place on his last couple of tours.
“Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October. If that is the date on the envelope, it’s gonna be tossed. I’m warning you with peace and love I have too much to do… No more fan mail and no objects to be signed. Nothing.” - RINGO STARR, video message on RingoStarr.com
