Katy Perry and Our Lady Peace rock CHUM FANFEST 2009 at MTV studios for Canadian Music Week
March 14, 2009 by Richard Budman ·

The place to be on a very busy night of CMW events in Toronto – was the CHUM Radio Fanfest at MTV’s home in Canada, the Masonic Temple. An intimate fan gathering crowded the stage area for a night of short sets by some pretty hot artists right now. While it was the proper thing for the CHUM Fanfest to do – give the final performance slot to Our Lady Peace – an iconic Canadian band that had not performed together in a while.
There was no mistake the buzz in the crowd was there for Katy Perry. Everybody, including an overflowing VIP area (and flowing nicely with free booze, thank you very much CTV) were there to see Perry. And in a twenty-five minute highly energetic set the girl flat out delivered. Including closing number “I kissed a girl” ending the night with doing just that for one surprised, but ready and very willing female fan.
