HoundsTV: Paul McCartney exits Radio City to hundreds of fans and autographs after Lynch concert soundcheck
NEW YORK (HoundsTV) April 4, 2009 – It’s been a Beatles fan frenzy in New York this weekend as the reunion of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr for the David Lynch Foundation benefit concert has brought hundreds of media, fans, and autograph collectors to Radio City Music Hall.

Hours before the Saturday night show, McCartney exited the stage door at Radio City after soundcheck and was greeted by hundreds of people who lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the Beatles legend.

While McCartney had been very good about signing most of the week in New York while preparing for the show – by Saturday he had started to notice some familiar faces continually asking him to sign (and it’s usually the collectors with the Beatles memorabilia.) One collector mentioned to HoundsTV that when he asked McCartney to sign a baseball Paul quipped, “but I’m not a baseball player.”

When McCartney exited Radio City after soundcheck and walked towards the autograph collectors who had waited hours for a chance at a signature, you could hear Paul remark, “Ok, now where’s the FANS I can sign for.” McCartney immediately labeled many in the front row as “professionals” but did manage to find some young kids with pieces of paper, a lady with a book, and someone with his recently released Electric Arguments solo works and happily signed them.

As for Ringo Starr. He just quickly entered and exited the building not stopping for fans or collectors. The autograph hounds who had been chasing Ringo all week (to no luck) truly believe that Ringo has signed his last autograph in this lifetime.

I would say im a Professional autograph getter but have never ever sold an autograph even though i have double of alot people ask me and my response is!! I put to much work into getting these autographs if i sold them i would have some money and once that gone i would have nothing (considering nowadays most money is spent on non tangable things like gas and food) I was at this Radio city event during sound check and the day before and was lucky enought to get paul mccartneys autograph!! Its still in my room and wont ever be sold. I work a full time job i can use that money for things i need and keep my autographs for me so i can enjoy them and remer the time i met the legends that signed them. Paul Mccartney is a classy guy and a gentelman i saw him 3 time this trip and one of the time he told me no he not signing today which alone comign from paul was awesome he just didnt ignore me and walk away he acknowledge me as a human. Some of the dealers ruin oppurtunitys to get autographs but just know most people who wait long hours arent always dealers or people selling there collectors like me that figure waiting 5 hours and getting the piece in person is alot cooler than spendign money for something that might be fake!! Once again i say Paul Mccartney is an extremley talented musician and a very nice humanbein.
