Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling signs (a very few) autographs during a stop in Toronto - tells hounds to “screw-off”
September 25th, 2008 / by Brad

(Oct-07) Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling made a brief appearance in Toronto this week and I managed to pull out all the stops and get half a dozen cherished Potter books signed. Mrs. Rowling attended the International Festival of Authors which marked her only appearance in Canada on this book tour.
The first time I had an opportunity too meet Mrs. Rowling was on the morning of October 23rd when she departed her hotel at 7am for the appearance at the Elgin Winter Garden Theatre. She signed 2 first edition Harry Potter books in the hotel lobby for me. I later managed to get a highly sought-after ticket into her event where I worked the room to get 4 more first edition “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” hardcover books signed. I did see Mrs. Rowling on a few other occasions during this rare stop in Toronto but she outright refused to sign anything.
This picture was taken at Pearson Airport tonight on her way out of town where clearly she was not pleased with her picture being taken and she had a few choice words to share with us.
