Anne Murray arrives in Toronto for All Of Me book tour – no more music tours or records coming

(HoundsTV – Toronto) Canadian singing icon Anne Murray is currently on a different sort of tour for her – a book tour. Fresh from an appearance at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame, Ms. Murray arrived at Indigo Books in Toronto’s Eaton Centre to greet a long line of fans and sign her new tell-all memoir, All Of Me.
It could be the last we see of Canada’s original song diva for a long time. Murray answered repeated questions from fans at Indigo about the next time she would tour or sing live again. Anne was very kind and gracious in her response explaining she was pretty much retired from the music business and doesn’t expect to tour or record another record ever again. “I haven’t sung in a year and a half and I don’t miss it,” said Murray.
“I was never much interested in the drugs. I certainly smoked dope like everybody else the odd time, but you know, I did very little of it. … I had to have my wits about me. I was the one out on stage, I was the one doing these shows, so I couldn’t get involved in that stuff.” – Anne Murray to The Canadian Press

I waited for over a year to read your book and was not disappointed. I have loved your music for over 30 years and the book was a beauitful way for you to say goodbye to us. I wish you all the best in your retirement and I will continue to listen to your music until forever and appreciate it as a gift that you so lovingly leave us as your legacy. Rock on sister friend.
