December 14, 2009 by Richard Budman ·
(HoundsTV) Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vernon Wells makes an appearance at the Jays Shop in Sears during Monday afternoon of December 14th. Around this same time, news would be breaking that Well’s star teammate and ace pitcher Roy Halladay was being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Just a couple days before this store signing, Wells gave a wide-ranging interview to MLB.com where the topic of trading Roy Halladay was discussed:
“I haven’t talked to him about it,” Wells said, “but I think everybody kind of knows Doc’s heart and what he wants. It’s been said many times, obviously, if this organization is going to be in a position to win soon, this is where he wants to be. He loves Toronto. He loves the clubhouse. He loves the guys. ” – VERNON WELLS, TO MLB.COM
