Memories of autographs from Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve at Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal as F1 boss Ecclestone kills the race
November 18th, 2008 / by Richard
It is sad indeed to hear that the annual Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix held in Montreal won’t be on the schedule for 2009. The race is now officially dead after last minute negotiating between the Canadian government and Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone fell short. It’s a shame to have such a world-class event that Canadians have been supporting for decades just ripped away over greed and what the government refers to as “unreasonable demands” by Ecclestone.
Besides the bad economic effects that is sure to be felt along Montreal’s Crescent street - it deprives Canadian autograph collectors their only real up-close and personal shot at world class Formula One drivers. HoundsTV can certainly remember many amazing weeks spent during June in Montreal getting the autographs of Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Shumacher, Mika Hakkinen, and many more.

We just have fond memories and autographs left from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as the drivers would leave the paddock area and make the trip across the bridge at Île Notre-Dame - all the while signing away for the waiting autograph collectors.

PopBoxTV.com has got a few beautiful pieces of Formula 1 memorabilia signed at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
